Sydney Harold Dent was born in Queensland on 20th August 1892. He is the son of Joseph Dent and Mary Jones.[1]
He enlisted in the Australian Imperial Forces in 1915 and served in Gallipoli.[2] He was appointed 2nd Lieutenant on 15th August 1916[3] and took part in action at Passchendale, Messines and Ypres. He was wounded in action.[2]
On 10th August 1918, at Morningside Anglican Church, he married May Ware.[4][5][2]
He died in the Glen Innes district of New South Wales on 12th January 1951, aged 58, and was cremated at Mount Thompson Crematorium, Holland Park, Queensland.[6][7]
