Biography
William was born in 1816 in Wells-next-the-Sea, Norfolk, England. He was the son of Mary Dawson and was baptised on the 26th October 1816.[1][2]
William worked as a Mariner in the CoastGuard Service. He moved out of the Norfolk area to Sussex, Eastbourne.[3][4]
William married Harriet Bigland at St James', Great Grimsby, Lincoln, England on the 20 Sep. 1842.[5] Their children were:

- Alfred, born 1848
- Jemima, born 1850
- Isabella, born 1851
- Walter, born 1854
- Grace, born 1856
- Frederick, born 1858
- Harriet, born 1859, died young

In 1881 William retired and was on the CoastGuard pension. [6]
He passed away in 1893 at Eastbourne, Sussex, England, United Kingdom.
