Sarah Demotts was born in Georgia.

Sarah was born about 1814 in Georgia. Her parents are unknown, but both also born in Georgia. She married Benjamin Scott about the age of 20 and they went on to have nine children. She became a widow between 1850 and 1860, therefore inherited the slaves and property from her husband.
