Hello Curtis:

I am Anne Mifsud-132 White- fairly new to WikiTree and options for research. My grandfather Vincent Mifsud 1881 1982 son of Amabile Mifsud immigrated from Malta to Vancouver Canada in 1904. Vincent’s mother Adelaide Galdes is sister of Carmela Galdes mother of Sir Hannibal Publius Scicluna 1880 1981 noted statesman and author of the Knights of St John. I am very anxious to search my great grandmother Adelaide Galdes and her family in Gozo. Other close family names are Vella, Zerafa, Borg and Zarb. On the male side, Falzon, DeBono and Catania, with connections to Sicily. My grandfather Vincent and his brothers Joseph and John both of whom never married lived at 359 Fleur de Lys Road Birkirkara with housekeeper Francesca. I do not have further information on his parents but received a Mifsud Family Tree from Lanfranco Genealogy Services in Malta and birth and marriage certificates. Also Dan Brock in Ontario Canada [email address removed] wrote an article on my grandfather in his monthly E-NEWSLETTER The Maltese Presence in North America. He was very helpful with immigration and contacts with Charles Said-Vassallo Genealogy Service in Australia. I am very interested in following up on any related family history. My expanded tree is on ancestry.com annecwhite2003. Thanks for any available input, comments. Anne White

Hello Curtis, the England Project has changed the way that "Category:England Project" is used. Previously it identified England Project Members, now it is a category for the England Project Free Space Pages and admin pages.

I would therefore be very grateful if you would remove "Category:England Project" from your personal profile. Please contact me if you have any questions about this.

Many thanks, Jo, England Project Leader

Hi Curtis,

I haven’t heard back from you about the break up of the United Kingdom Project. I hope all is well with you. I assume you don’t wish to join any of the country-level projects at present, and will go ahead and remove the United Kingdom badge. If you wish to join England, Scotland, Wales or Ireland in the future, you would be most welcome to do so via the respective G2G sign-up post.

Many thanks for all your contributions,

Susie :-)

Hi Curtis,

We realise the time has come to dissolve the UK Project in favour of the individual country projects of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.

We are checking in with all UK badge holders to find out which country project(s) you would like to be in so you can collaborate with other members, have the opportunity to select which team(s) you would like to join, and so we can ensure you have all the correct badges.

Please respond by PM to let us know which country project(s) you would like to be in. Please don’t assume we know. We are effectively starting from scratch to make sure no one falls through the cracks.

Once you have done this, the Coordinator for Membership in the relevant country project(s) will be in touch to help get you situated.

Many thanks,

Susie

Hi Curtis

I am just checking in to see how things are going.

I know you are busy beavering away on the Orphan Trail, and on behalf of the England Team, I wanted to thank you for all the TLC you are giving to the England Orphans.

Once you have finished the trail, I will get back with you and help you find your niche in the Project.

If you have any questions in the meantime, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Wendy Project Coordinator for Welcome and Integration.

Hi Curtis. Thank you for the info you have already given me. If you have anymore about the Mercieca family and how our families are connected I would be very grateful. I can send you my email address if you have any documents you would be happy to share.

Thanks again

Melanie

Hi. Thank you for the Mercieca info. That certainly seems very likely to be Guiseppe’s parents. Would it be possible for me to view this part of your family tree? Any information is very welcome. Thank you.

Melanie Purches.

Hi Curtis, Congratulations on joining up to the England Project! We are looking forward to working with you. You'll find more about the project at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:England. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

HI there. Is there something we should know about Maltese naming structures? I note Carbott_Testaferrata_Ghaxaq-1. Just asking. C.

Im not sure what the procedure would be to turn a FSP into a project, that would be a good question to ask in the p2p forum. For future reference,it would be better to start something like that as a project, rather than a FSP,then add FSPs as needed.

That is the correct procedure, good luck with your project.

Hi Curtis,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus, whether time period, location, or special event. Read the goals and tasks of the project and join if it is a good fit.

Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.
