Suffragist and social reformer. A friend of Jane Addams, Bowen was an officer and trustee of Hull House and founded its camp in Waukegan. First president of Chicago's Juvenile Protective Association. Auditor of the National American Woman Suffrage Association. US representative to the Pan-American Conference of Women.
Louise died on November 9, 1953, aged 94.
