Sandra Day was born on 26 Mar 1930 in El Paso, Texas, United States, daughter of Harry Alfred Day, a rancher, and Ada Mae (Wilkey).[2]

  • O'Connor was appointed to the US Supreme Court by President Ronald Reagan. She was the first woman ever to hold that position.
  • Grew up on the family's Lazy-B Ranch near the Gila River, straddling the border between Arizona & New Mexico

Sandra Day O'Connor passed away on 1 Dec 2023[3] and her ashes were scattered among the graves of her family in their family cemetery (on the beloved ranch in Arizona). [4]
