Biography
Susannah (Day) Barker was born in Kimpton, Hertfordshire, England.
Susannah was born in Kimpton, Hertfordshire, in about 1843. [1] In 1851 she was living in Kimpton Street, Kimpton with her family. Her father was recorded as a farm labourer. [2] In 1861 the family was still in Kimpton. Susannah's father William was recorded as being born in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, and her mother Ann in Kimpton, as were all the rest of the family. [3]
In 1864 Susannah married William Hankey in Luton. [4]
William's birth name was William Barker Hankey, and he was born in about 1843 in Stopsley, Hertfordshire. His father was similarly named James Barker Hankey, known as James Barker. William and Sarah's children kept the Barker Hankey name but were known as Barker.
The family was living at 148 High Town Road Luton in 1881. [5]
