Cyril Frederick Dawes, son of Edwin Dawes and Lydia Marion Southon was born on 4 July 1895 at Whittingham, Singleton. He died on 16 August 1968 at Singleton Hospital, Singleton, New South Wales, Australia and married Vera Amy HAGGERTY in 1922.

Cyril farmed at 'Fairview' Newington on White Falls Lane (just on outskirts of Singleton), he died aged 73 years and was buried at Whittingham cemetery.
