Biography
Ruby Hazel Davis was born on 21 April 1922 in Lumber Bridge, Robeson County, North Carolina, United States. Her parents were William Milton Davis (1853 - 1922) and Sarah Jean (Ratley) Davis (1876 - 1946).[1][2]
Ruby was enumerated in the household of her parents in Lumber Bridge, Robeson County, North Carolina on the 1930 United States Census. She was 10 years old.[3]
In the 1940 census Ruby, age 18, was living in the household of her brother-in-law, Roy Lee Dean. in Rockfish Township, Cumberland County, North Carolina. Ruby was single.[4]
Ruby Hazel Davis and Cecil Franklin Harris were married by the Judge of Probate on 08 December 1940 in Bennettsville, Marlboro County, South Carolina.[5] They were the parents of at least two children: Ausband Franklin Harris (1942-2010) and Cecil Wayne Harris (1950-2011).
In the 1950 census Ruby, age 29, was enumerated as the wife of Frank Harris in Cumberland, Cumberland County, North Carolina. Their son Franklin was also a member of the household.[6]
Ruby Hazel (Davis) Harris passed away on 15 December 1997 in Cumberland County, North Carolina. She was 76 years old.[7] She was buried at Galatia Presbyterian Church, Fayetteville, Cumberland County, North Carolina.[8]
