Biography

Constance (Davis) Edwards is a part of US Black heritage.

Constance Lee Davis was born in Texas on 7 August 1888 to William Samuel Davis and Rachel Mary Smith.^[1] She married Bruce Marcus Edwards on 19 July 1911 in Anderson County, Texas.^[2] They had 2 known children. In 1920, Constance was living with her widowed mother, Rachel Davis, in Palestine, Texas. She was married to Edwards but he was not living with the family. Her brother, Willie and his wife, as well as Constance's two children, Berhart[sic] and Velma, were also in the home. Constance was working as a public school teacher.^[3] By 1930, Constance was divorced. She and her children were living in the household of her brother, William S Davis, along with their mother, Rachel, in San Antonio, Texas.^[4] She died in Los Angeles, California on 28 August 1979.^[5]
