Biography
Sarah Davis was born in November, 1838, a daughter of Reverend Thomas Davis and Sarah Means. Sarah's father had inherited 240 acres on "Davis Creek," a trace of the Kanawah River, named for his father who purchased the land in 1790.
On May 6, 1858, in Kanawha county, Sarah married James Franklin "Frank" Dunlap, born in 1837, in Kanawha county, Virginia, a son of Thomas Dunlap and Jincy Jane Turley. Sarah and Frank lived on the land that belonged to her grandfather and then her father. Children of Sarah and Frank were all born on this property on Davis Creek, Kanawha county, Virginia:
