Nehemiah Davis was born at Concord, on April 23, 1728 [1] son of Simon and Hannah Davis. [2]
He married Dorothy Heald, intention published at Acton, Massachusetts April 28, 1753.[3] Dorothy was the daughter of John and Mary (Hale) Heald (or Hale), [4]and was born at Concord, Massachusetts on November 25, 1731. [1][2]
Nehemiah died at Concord on March 10, 1782, aged 54. [1]
He died intestate and on April 10, 1782, Thomas Thurston of Fitchburg was appointed estate Administrator and the court appointed a committee to complete the estate inventory. The estate was assessed at L1036: 6:2 and submitted to the court on June 12, 1782. [5]
The committee was ordered to set off 1/3 of the real estate to widow Dorothy as her dower. The land and buildings were assessed at L580: 10, and portions valued at L193: 10 was granted to Dorothy, recorded March 29, 1783. [5]
On June 12, 1782, Nehemiah Davis, son of Nehemiah Davis chose John Buttrick to be his guardian. [6]
After an accounting of debts owed by the estate, on April 12, 1786, the lawful heirs of the estate of Nehemiah Davis consented to the allowance of L42: 12 to the widow for her support. Signed by:
On April 10, 1806, Nehemiah Davis heir and son to Nehemiah Davis petitioned to have his share of his father's estate set off by the court. [5]
On April 12, 1806, the court ordered that the one third dower of widow Dorothy be set off to her children. The valuation was $658 with 7 shares at $94 each, with only son Nehemiah's double portion valued at $188. The remaining shares were set off to:[5]
