Dear Sister,
I am glad to let you know that William is getting on fine. He has been discharged from the hospital since the 3rd of this month. But he finds it very awkward now with his three fingers missing off his right hand. He has to be very careful as the least touch starts it bleeding. Lizzie is alive and jogging along in the old homestead. She is going to write to you someday soon so she will be able to send you all the news that’s going. I and my family are middling. We are only 4 of us at home here. My two sons, Evan Beddoe and David William are working at some factories in London so as I have not more news I will draw to a close with love from all to you all.
I remain your affectionate Brother J. H. Davies
P.S. Can you tell me why do we have to pay (2d) two pence on your letters when they deliver them here and yet you have the same price stamps on yours as those that we get from Agnes and they do not charge on Agnes’s letters. So Cheerio. All is well that ends well we are glad to have news from you.
