Thank you for adding a GEDCOM. The GEDCOM does not automatically populate your tree. It generates a GEDCOMpare report which you work through, either accepting or rejecting all suggested matches. Once that has been done, you should see [add] buttons for each of the remaining names.
The GEDCOMpare process guide has tips on how to use the data in your file most efficiently.
For those using Chrome or Opera browsers, there is a tool that can help with the formatting of profiles which have been created through GEDCOM, so that you can concentrate on the research. You can read more about it in the WikiTree AGC FAQ.

VERY IMPORTANT:
The more documents, sources, dates, and locations you provide on the profiles you create, the stronger your branches and our mutual global tree will be. If you don't know the correct date, please estimate using before or after.
Mike, I can only repeat what the owner, Chris Whitten, has pledged. I've been a member here over a year and 1/2 and during that time I've had nothing but respect for the owner and his ideas. WikiTree is made up mostly of volunteers and hires very few staff members. It's because so many of us volunteer that the site is able to be free. We are all willing workers to make this happen. The site is supported by commercials/ads. When one is a member, the ads are very non-intrusive.
"Our mission is to grow a single worldwide family tree that will make genealogy free and accessible for everyone."
"Everything is free. There are no "premium" memberships and nobody is charged for access to anything. Ever."

"As the creators and hosts of the WikiTree website, we pledge that our mission is the same as that of the community: to create a single worldwide family tree that will make genealogy free and accessible for everyone.
Free is an essential part of our shared mission. We will never charge for access to the worldwide family tree. And we will never knowingly and willingly sell or transfer the worldwide family tree to any individual or organization that intends to charge for access to it."
