Charles was born in 1899. He passed away about 1982.

- Unable to produce birth certificate as the 2nd Amglo Boer war broke out on 11 October 1899 and no birth certificate was issued. He was baptised in the Dutch reformed church in Harrismith by a methodist minister as the was the only church building in town at the time. Date of baptism unknown.
