Biography

Volga German
Mary (Daubert) Kaiser was a Volga German.

This profile is part of the Bridgeland-Riverside, Alberta One Place Study.

On September 23, 1909, Anna, her husband Adam and their children arrived in Quebec on the Laurentic, destination Calgary. Their Canadian contact was Johann Pofenrod, Adam's brother-in-law. Anna's parents, George and Marie Felker Daubert, followed them to Calgary in 1912. They all settled in the neighborhood of Bridgeland-Riverside where there were other Germans from Russia. Many of the men worked for the CPR like Anna's husband. At least by 1913 Anna and Adam and their children began occupying their permanent resident at 404 Centre Avenue (which eventually came to be called Marsh Road N.E.). When Anna's father died in 1931, he was living at 441 First Avenue N.E. which would have been behind their house on the same block. Anna died on February 3, 1951. She and Adam are buried at Queen's Park Cemetery.

Anna and Adam had the following children:

Katherine (1898-1987) m. Peter Poffenroth
Anna Marie (1898-1965) m. Adam Fox
Marie Elizabeth (1901-1979) m. John Neuss
Adam (1903- ca. 1975)
Peter (1903-1983) m. Marie Rohl
Henry (Kaiser) King (1907-1996) m. Margaret Will
Alexander (1909-1987) m. Eleanor Staples
Eva Victoria (1920-1980) m. John Leinweber
