Biography

Dr. Albert Dake served in the United States Civil War.

Albert J Dake was born about 1839 according to his gravestone inscription. He was born in Almond, Allegany, New York to parents John Enreigh Dake and Emeline Barrett.[1][2][3]

He served in the Civil War enlisting on 13 May 1861. He served with Company I, 1st Regiment, 27th New York Dragoons, and was captured on 29 Aug 1864 at Smithfield, Virginia. He was paroled at Camp Annapolis, Maryland.

He married Emma Kendall about 1867 in New York.

In 1880 he was age 40, a physician, and living in Harmony, Webster, Nebraska with his wife Emma and two children, Lloyd W and Milly.[8]

In 1885 he was age 45 and living in North Franklin, Franklin, Nebraska with his wife Emma and children Lloyd W and Milly.[9]

In 1910 he was age 70, widowed, and living with his daughter E Floy, age 15.[10]

He died on 17 Oct 1914 in Hastings, Adams, Nebraska, and was buried in the Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Adams County, Nebraska.[11][12]
