Biography

FRANCOIS DAIGLE is on the Wall of Names at the Acadian Memorial in St. Martinville, Louisiana, on Plaque 8 Left: Le Beaumont. Listed with him is his wife Jeanne Aulai and four children: Louis, Jeanne, Adelaide and Louise.[1]

Rose Adelaide Flore Daigre, or Daigle, daughter of Acadians Francois Daigle and Jeanne Holley, was born in exile in France in 1771. She was counted on a list of emigrating Acadians in September 1784 in the port city of Nantes, France.[2][3] She and her parents immigrated to Louisiana, arriving at the port of New Orleans on 19 August 1785.[4]

She married John Charles Tullier on 21 July 1790 in Pointe Coupee, Louisiana.[5]

She died on 16 March 1824 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana,[16] and was buried the next day.[17]
