John Curtis, son of John and Lydia Curtis, was born December 10, 1667, in Wethersfield.[1][2]
John married Elizabeth Wright April 3, 1690, in Wethersfield.[1][2] She was the daughter of Joseph and Mary Wright.[2]
He was a collector in Wethersfield in 1692; drew lands in the 1694 allotment; and served on the Town school committee in 1702.[2]
John died 7 Nov 1712[3][4][2] in Wethersfield, although the town record says he died the 8th.[1][2] He was age 44.[3]Burial was at the Wethersfield Village Cemetery, Wethersfield, Hartford County, Connecticut, USA[3]
John's will was dated the day he died and was quite short. He bestowed on his wife: Jacob his negro servant, the current crop and the use of his land until his sons come of lawful age for bringing up son John to learning and for the bringing up of the rest of the children. He also mentions son Josiah by name. An inventory valued at £1004:15:09 was taken of the estate of John Curtis Jun who died 7 Nov 1712. Elizabeth Curtis was executrix of the last will of her late husband John Curtis Jun. late of Wethersfield.
