I noticed that you created a profile for Surname Count. Each person profile a real individual human beings born on Earth in the past two thousand years. See the Person Profile Help. Instead you may want a Free Space Profile.
Did you know that you can get a list of all Baird profiles by typing Baird in the Last Name field, then searching? There are 6306 Baird profiles.
OK found it. I believe I thought I was creating a report to find all the Bairds I created in one file and not a Person file. Please delete it or I can reuse it for another person.
Hi M. I've noticed you've added a lot of profiles, without any sources besides "Personal Family Tree". I hope you understand, this doesn't count as a source, because no one else is able to check it, or verify it.
A source is a record of birth marriage or death (or other proof of age, name, residence, etc) that people can check. Preferably online, but not necessarily. Be specific about what the sources are, what they say, and where you can find them.
Thanks so much for adding Phil Latham's nickname to his profile! He was my dad's uncle, and this is the name everyone used for him. I'm sure he'd approve!
This is a courtesy email to share the After Adopting Orphans FAQ which explains the special attention adopted profiles will sometimes need from their profile managers. One quick way to find the profiles you adopted is by searching your Contributions List for the words "adopted" and "manager." You can find a quick link to your Contributions List in the My WikiTree dropdown menu.
Hi Mike! I noticed you've made a few contributions around Newfoundland, including some profiles that I manage. Thanks for adding to our shared family tree.
There are a couple of things I'd like to mention. When you add place names, we want them to be (if possible) historically accurate. So, in the case of Newfoundland, Newfoundland joined Confederation (became part of Canada) only in 1949. So please don't use Canada in the place name for dates prior to that. And Newfoundland was only Newfoundland and Labrador after 2001.
In particular, we encourage url links to primary sources, and generally prefer that you source open (not pay) sites, like FamilySearch over Ancestry.
For biographies, there's no mandatory format, but I would strongly encourage you against using the GEDCom import format you have been using (for instance on the profile of https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Sheppard-3964 ). It's very hard to read, and most of the Ancestry reference links aren't helpful. Some elements of the biography (like latitude and longitude) are better handled by categories: eg https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Lark_Harbour%2C_Newfoundland_Colony that have location information and links to Google Maps already.
Thanks for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge! Collaboration with Pre-1700 Project members is essential for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. Collaboration is essential because those ancestors are usually shared by many descendants.
It looks like the Canada Project would be a good fit based on your branch of WikiTree. Review the project page to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.
Do you have any questions? Let me know. I'm happy to help! :-)
Remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles that you manage or edit. (See: Pre-1700 Reliable Sources).
I've tried to email you in the past, although I haven't heard from you. I was wondering if you had any information on the Loyalist status of James Cunning, as he is my sixth great grandfather. Our family line is through Michael Cunning's son John who moved to Newfoundland, where our family has continued to live. I'm not going to leave my email in this post, but I would greatly appreciate it if you could send me a private message or post on my profile!
I'm well aware of many Cunnings in Bay-of-Isles now Corner Brook it seems. At present I do not have any further info. on (the elusive) James. He is buried in Sandy Beach now called Gaspe, QC.
Can you tell me which email addy and location you sent a query to? I can the update that post. Do you know George and his uncle Roland in CB?
Thanks for having a big heart and adopting the Orphaned Profiles. This After Adopting Orphans FAQ explains the special attention those profiles need.
Let me know if you have any questions on how to find and record sources, merge duplicates, clean up gedcom biographies, and interpret the Suggestions report. I'm here to help!
As you have been a member of WikiTree for a few weeks now I thought I would check in to see how you are getting on with the site.

Also, you may want to check out the WikiTree Sourcer browser extension. This will help you find and cite sources.
Can you tell me which Count I created so I can check it out? e.g. Count-??
Also, check out MyWikiTree Surname Contributions
On the other hand, have you checked out the WikiTree Sourcer yet?

You can use a WikiTree+ search to get a list of all the profiles that you created. You can also search for just Baird. Try this https://wikitree.sdms.si/default.htm?report=srch1&Query=creator_Cunning-41+baird&MaxProfiles=5000

Sorry, this is a lot of stuff. If you're interested in learning your way around biographies and categories and sources, it'd be great if you joined us in the Canada Project. We have an introductory "Orphan Trail" we use to cover all these topics (and more!) https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/1177802/have-canadian-ancestors-interest-canada-come-canada-project
