MINER KILLED. Fall of 130ft. into Open Cut.

BIG BELL, Nov. 25.—Robert William Crosby (27), miner, was killed while working in the open cut at the Big Bell mine about 4.30 p.m. yesterday. Crosby and his mate, Arthur Gallop, were boring a bench preparatory to firing, when the bench collapsed. Crosby's rope, which was fairly slack, snapped, and falling about 130ft., he was killed instantly. Gallop's rope saved him, as it had only a little slack. Crosby was a married man.
