Mary Ann was born in 1834. Mary Ann Croft ... She passed away in 1888.[1]
Mary Ann and James Lockett probably were never married. Even though Mary Ann has used the surname of Lockett on her children's birth and death certificates, and recorded James as their father, on her marriage certificate (to Francis Bunn) her name is shown as Mary Ann Croft. Possibly she was too young to marry, without parents' permission, when she and James first 'became a couple'. Her parents lived in England at the time and Mary Ann had no relatives in Australia.
