He married Anna Lorain Hazen on 11 March 1894 in Union Co, IA at home of her parents.
Their children were Hazel Louisa Crittenden[married Charles W. Boyer], Maggie Viola Crittenden[married Elmer E. Burchett], Harry Hazen Crittenden[married Mabel A. Gordon], Madge Ramell Crittenden[married Lewis G. Brown], Ray R. Crittenden[married Iva Conn], Earl "Wayne" Crittenden[married Louisa I. Booth] and Ralph "Roy" "Cap" Crittenden[married Mildred F. Booth].
