John William Crisp was born on 22 December 1878 in Fulletby, Lincolnshire, England, United Kingdom, son of John Crisp and Mary Hanson.
In the 1881 census John age 2 was with his parents John Crisp 45 and Mary 40, and 5 siblings in Fulletby, Lincolnshire, England. His father was an agriculture labourer. They were all born in Lincolnshire, England.[1]
In the 1891 census John age 12 was with his parents and 5 siblings in Aby, Lincolnshire, England. His father was a labourer agricultural and so was their boarder Joseph Blackey 25.[2]
John Crisp 19 served in South Africa from 1899 to 1904 with the Welsh Regiment the "Highlanders" during the Boer War. He had Malaria, was wounded in the leg, got cut up from barbed wire, and remembers being hungry a lot. [3]
He married Clara Elizabeth Robinson on 18 April 1905 in St John The Evangelist church, Putney, London. [4]
1907 John Crisp and Clara arrived in Canada from England. [5] Her maiden name was Clara Elizabeth Robinson. [6]
In the 1916 census John age 39 was with his wife Clara Crisp 34 and 4 unmarried children in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada.[5]
2 March 1971 John William Crisp died (age 92) in Trail, Kootenay Boundary, British Columbia, Canada. He was born 22 December 1878 in England. His wife Clara Elizabeth Robinson Crisp had preceded him in death.[6]
