Biography

Cornelius Crich was born in Ashover, Derbyshire, England.

Cornelius, the son of Adam Crich and Frances, was baptised on October 24, 1687 in Ashover, Derbyshire, England.^[1] He was the great-great grandson of William Crich, Gent. of Ashover.^[2] He married Hanah Parker on September 14, 1719 in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, England.^[3][4] They had the following children:

• Cornelius^[9]
• Thomas^[10] (buried a year later)^[11]
• Sybbil^[12]
• Jemima^[13]

His wife Hannah was buried on December 29, 1763 in Ashover, Derbyshire, England.^[14] Cornelius (age 102) was buried on March 27, 1789 in Ashover, Derbyshire, England.^[15][16] According to the Magna Britannia, he was "the last of the [Crich of Stubbing-Edge] family" and died "in very reduced circumstances".^[17] He had, up until his death, frequented the Chesterfield market, and was buried in Ashover Church.^[2]
