Martha was born in 1887 in Whitchurch, Shropshire, England.[1] She was the daughter of Thomas Crewe and Martha (Stockton) Crewe.
In the 1891 census Martha (age 5) was the daughter of Thomas and Martha Crewe, living at 33 Yardington Street in Whitchurch, Shropshire, England.[2]
