Hugh Alexander was born in 1912. He was the son of Mary nee Macdonald and Alexander Francis Ritchie Crawford [1] He passed away in 1936 age 24 [2]

It was snowing heavily and bitterly cold- De Lambert did what he could for Crawford and then went off to get assistance When the relief party, organised by Glade House, reached the spot where Crawford had been left on the track over the pass, Crawford was already dead,[3]
