Biography
Born in Beaumont, Texas and moved to Kountze, Texas at the age of 3. Grew up in the Beaumont Colony Subdivision. Started Kindergarten in Kountze and graduated from Kountze High School in 1988. First job besides babysitting and coaching cheerleader was waitressing at The Black-eyed Pea Restaurant in Beaumont during the summer breaks from college. Starting working at Nacogdoches Medical Center Hospital (NMCH) as a Pharmacy Technician in Jan 1990 while attending Stephen F Austin State University in Nacogdoches. Before graduating from SFASU with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in Dec 1996, Jana attended Lamar University, University of Houston and graduated from Angelina College with an Associate of Science in Nursing in May 1996. Jana continued to work at NMCH as a staff nurse in various departments, Med/Surg, Business Office Auditor, Medical Records Supervisor, Occupational Health Jobsite Nurse, Nursery and NICU. Through the years she also worked for several doctors, F. Barry Roberts - Pediatrician, Kim McMorries - Ob/Gyn, Ed Ferren - Orthopedic Surgeon, Micheal Chapman - Family Practice. Jana taught vocational nursing at Panola College for 8 years.
