Hello Cousin Andy, on Madeleine Bernier (1737-1799), can you post a source that backs up your change to her birthday? There are several sources (and I found and added another) that support the 1744 date that was there. Not that they all can't be wrong, but please give us somethin' :)

Thanks!

Hello Bernard, here is the baptismal record, second from the bottom left: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QSQ-G993-XZ2D?i=201&wc=HCXD-GP8%3A24045301%2C24045302%2C24045303&cc=1321742

Difficult to read but there it is. André

Hello André,

What makes you advocate that one over this one that's already cited on the profile, where both parents' names are listed, and the town matches? https://www.ancestry.com/discoveryui-content/view/14958504:1091

Hello Bernard,

If you look at the actual document, not the summary page, the only record for May 12 1744 is the one with parents Barthelemy and Jeanne Charest. They were two sisters with almost exactly the same name: one born in 1737, the other in 1744.

Thanks Andre. I should have merged Huot-467 and Huot-468, not 457 & 458.

Hi André

Are you actively reviewing the Giroux line? You made a merge proposal that I was going to do. If so, I think that your assistance would be appreciated in determining where things have gone off track in the current spate of changes. Place names are not correct, spelling on names of recently added people are wrong and have created profiles that need to be deleted. I am getting lost with all of the activity and have no idea what to do next!

Linda Wisking

Hello Linda, I did make a merge request a while back but as things stand now, a merge is no longer required. Since none of these are my profiles I thought you and the other profile mgrs would resolve it as that was your suggestion at one point.

Looking at it again, the first Vincent(Jean-Baptiste) born in 1735 and his spouse are both correct. The other two Vincents, the one born in 1738 and the one born in 1741 are both correct although the latter needs a DOD. However, the wives are reversed in these last two. All you need to do is follow this link: https://www.nosorigines.qc.ca/GenealogieQuebec.aspx?genealogie=Giroux_Vincent&pid=328489. The three Vincents there are correct as are their wives. All verified with PRDH. As for place names, in Wikitree we use the names as they were used at the time.

Hi Jim, It's great when you can link up someone to all their ancestors on the big tree all the way back to France. Thank you,

André

Hello André: I see that we are 8th. cousins. That's a long line of heritage. Thank you for adding the profile for Raymond Marc Labossière. I have linked him into the over all family tree on the Labossiere side.

Best wishes, Jim LaBossiere

Hi André,

You will need to switch your "french_roots" followed tag to "france". Please check this out: https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/846021/french-roots-becomes-the-france-project

Isabelle

Hello Andre. Concerning Jean Prevost. My Jean Prevost was born-6 May 1662, died-12 May 1737. I have documentation that he was the son of Marie Olivier Sylvestre Manitouabeouich, who was married to Martin Prevost, born-4 Jan 1611, died-27 Jan 1691. This is also recognized by the Ontaio Metis Records Center.

On all the births and marriages of his children, he used the name Michel Ange.

André, there is already a comment in the bio that the name comes from his marriage record. If there are other versions/sources those should be discussed in the bio.

Hello, can you please provide a source for the name change you made to Ouellet-913?

Hi André

As you both agree to the merge, either of you can finalise it.

ps, add Quebecois to your tags, French Roots comes earlier in most instances.

and hello cousin, 8th cousins.

all fixed, please note that locations should bear the name they had at the time of the event. And Ste-Geneviève in question is nowhere near Berthier, it's Pierrefonds or whatever they changed it to lately.

Thanks André for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz

Because Pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects coordinating them is essential. Please ensure location data matches dates of profile, avoid abbreviations, add citations & links for sources to support the data. From wiki ID go to Research to find sources

The French Roots Project would be of interest. Adding the tag French_Roots will connect you

Explore Pre-1700 Projects list to find one that fits your research focus, whether time period, location, or topic. Read the goals & tasks of the project join if it fits
