Biography

Bryan, child of George & Mary Coulson, was baptised on 15 March 1795 in Scalby, Yorkshire, England.[1]

Brian married Hannah Boulton on 5 October 1816 in Scarborough, Yorkshire, England.[2]

Brian married Elizabeth Harding on 21 July 1831 in Scarborough, Yorkshire, England.[3] Both were residents of St Mary's parish, Scarborough. [4]

In 1841 Brian was living with his family at Vernon Place, Scarborough, Yorkshire & Yorkshire (North Riding), England

On 1st November 1848 Brian served as an "assessor" in the election of local government councellors in the South Ward of Scarborough. As an assessor, he was responsible for ensuring that the election took place in compliance with the regulations [6].

Brian died (age 82) on 14 September 1877 in Berea, Natal, South Africa. Brian had been a builder. His cause of death is given as "Congestive apoplexy" [7]

Brian's child Frederick Edmund Coulson died on 24 July 1900 in South Africa.[8]

Brian died in South Africa. He may have been one of the Haidee Settlers, the original landowner of Lot 52 at York, Natal. His family would have accompanied him. Frederick Edmund Coulson was born at Scarborough and died in South Africa.
