Biography

Sarah was born about 1837. Her parents were Lane COULSELL and Sarah BARNES.

The barque, Fairlie set sail from London, England via Plymouth on 20 Feb 1856 and arrived in Hobson's Bay, Australia on 4 Jun 1856 with assisted immigrant, 20 year old Sarah L COULSELL aboard^[1][2]. (Original passenger list sited on ancestry.com.au - Paid site - states she joined her mother in South Melbourne).

John Malpas Moyse BELWARD and Sarah Louisa COULSELL were married on 13 Dec 1858 at St. James's Cathedral, Melbourne, Victoria^[3]

On the 13th inst., at St. James's Cathedral, Melbourne, by the Rev. John Freeman, John Malpas Moyse Belward, Esq., second son of the Rev. Henry Belward Moyse Belward, of Nottingham, Suffolk, and Wray Park, Reigate, to Sarah Louisa, daughter of the late Lane Bradford Coulsell, Esq., of London.

Sarah sued for dissolution of the marriage in the Supreme Court in Melbourne, Victoria which was granted on 6 May 1869^[5]

LORDING.—On the 24th August, at her home, Oakdene, 12 Maitland street, East Malvern, S. L. (Louie), dearly beloved wife of William John Lording, and loving mother of Harold, Edgar, Ethel (Mrs. R. B. Dixon), and Ida (Mrs. J. N. Black), aged 91 years.
