Thomas Costain is Notable.
Thomas B. Costain was a Canadian-American journalist, editor, novelist and non-fiction author.

Born in 1885 in Brantford, Ontario, he was the son of John Herbert Costain and Mary Rachel Schultz.[1] He married Ira Randolph Spragg in 1910 in Toronto, Ontario.[2] They had two daughters: Mary "Molly" Randolph, In 1911[3] and Dora in 1914.[4] Molly also became a novelist.[5]

The Costains emigrated to the United States after Thomas became the fiction editor of The Saturday Evening Post. He became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1920.

His first historical novel, For My Great Folly, was published in 1942. It was followed by eleven more. The Black Rose (1945) and The Silver Chalice (1952) were the best known.[6]

He died in 1965 in New York City and was buried in Brantford. The Thomas B. Costain public elementary school and the Thomas B. Costain – S.C. Johnson Community Centre in Brantford are named in his honour.[7]
