Biography

Henry was born ca. 1839 to James and Sarah B (Unknown) Cosby in Virginia.

In 1850, Henry is 11 years old. He and his family are lliving and farming in Alleghany County, Virginia,^[1] and they continue living and farming in the same place in 1860.^[2]

Henry fought with Company D of the 60th Virginia Infantry during the US Civil War.^[3]

He married Emma L. Hutchinson on 7 Sep 1876 in Mountain Grove, Bath County, Virginia.^[4]

By 1880, Henry is working as a school teacher. He and his wife Emma and their young daughter, Willie, are living in the household of Henry's brother William.^[5]

Henry died on 15 Feb 1906 in Alleghany County, Virginia, and is buried in Windy Cove Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Millboro Springs, Virginia.^[3]
