Biography

George William Cordukes was the grandson of George Cordukes and presumably of Margaret Nellis, George's wife. Entered from the Barron Family Tree as son of Peter Cordukes.

George William Cordukes was born in Scarborough, Yorkshire, England, in the S quarter of1866. ^{[1] [2]}

He was baptised in Scarborough, St Mary on 17 March 1867, as George William Cordeaux. His father was shown as Frederick Normandale, a fisherman, his mother as Betsy. ^[3]

Two years later, on 26 December 1869, Betsy Cordukes, daughter of George Cordukes a labourer, and Benjamin Tindall, the son of Richard Tindall, were married in Scarborough. ^[4]

The census of 1871 and 1881 showed him as grandson of George. ^[5]

George married Elizabeth Sutton, the daughter of Thomas Sutton in Scarborough on 5 December 1891, he gave his father's name as George, who was actually his grandfather. ^[7]
