George Coppell lived in New Zealand.

William "George" was born on the 9 November 1854 in the Port of Lyttelton, City of Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand. He was the Son of Edward James Coppell (a Blacksmith) and Mary Ann Barton. On the 25 February 1875, George married Sarah Lilley "in the Dwelling House of David Mitchell, Saltwater Creek, District of Mt. Grey Downs", near the City of Christchurch, in Canterbury, New Zealand^[1]. During the marriage, the couple had ten (10) children:--

From around 1896 to 1935, Sarah and "George" lived in the Settlement of Motupipi, located at the mouth of the Motupipi River east of the Town of Tākaka, in the Tasman District of New Zealand's upper South Island^[12]. Between 1896 and 1900, George worked as a Labourer before taking up farming around 1905 and in 1928, he was recorded as being a Retired Farmer.

George passed away on the 28 May 1936, at 35 Franklyn Street, in the City of Nelson, District of Nelson, New Zealand, at the age of 82 years^[13]. His burial took place on the 30 May 1936 in the Church of England/Anglican area, Block 40; Plot 44 (beside his wife) of the Wakapuaka Cemetery, Atawhai Drive, Atawhai, City of Nelson, Nelson Region, New Zealand^[14]. The inscription on the Headstone reads:-- In Loving Memory of WILLIAM GEORGE COPPELL; Died May 28th 1936; Aged 81 Years. And His Wife SARAH; Died Nov. 10th 1950. Aged 93 Years^[15].
