Researchers Notes

  • The 1840 census is questionable. There should be seven in the household, but only five are listed in the 1840 census.
  • There is an 1860 census slave schedule in Boone County, but I do not believe that is this George W. as he lived in Morgan County in the standard 1860 census.
  • The 1880 census lists George living with Margaret J. and Joseph Wilson. It was thought that Margaret was George's daughter, Mary J. Coonce, but upon research, the children list their mother as someone else. I am currently researching this information.
  • George is living next door to his son, George Jr.
