Biography

Thomas Edgar Cook, Jr was born July 3, 1869 on the island of Molokai in the Kingdom of Hawaii. He graduated from Iolani School in Honolulu, and became a civil engineer and surveyor. He married Kimi Matsu from Maui, and in 1898, moved to Hilo on the island of Hawaii. He worked with territorial surveyor Erdman Baldwin, and did much of the survey work for the establishment of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park in 1916.^[1]

Thomas passed away January 4, 1943 in Hilo.^[2] He may be buried in a family plot in Nuuanu Cemetery in Honolulu, HI.^[3]
