She may have been born in Dudley, Worcestershire. The FamilySearch tree gives her birthplace as Tasmania, but has her parents as James Cook and Mary Ann Nolan, who were from Dudley and emigrated to Australia, her mother dying in Fingal, Tasmania. There is a suggested match for her in the 1851 census (if these are her parents) which would have her born in Dudley.
