Biography

Elizabeth was born in 26 Aug 1798 in Edgecombe County, North Carolina.^[1] She married John Blakemore on 19 Jan 1822 in Sumner Co., TN,^[2] and they had at least nine children. They lived in Sumner Co. all their married lives (all censuses), and she ran the farm after her husbands death. On the 1850 Slave Census she had 10 slaves,^[3] and in 1860 she had only one.^[4] She passed away 3 Jul 1861 and is buried in the Joyner Cemetery in Sumner Co., Tennessee, USA.^[5]
