CPO Cyril Conners was Killed in Action during World War II.
Biography
Cyril was born in 1921. He was the son of Thomas Conners and Lillas Keating. He perished following the U-boat attack on the HMCS Shawinigan (K136) between Sydney, Nova Scotia and Port-aux-Basques during the early morning hours of November 25, 1944. The other 84 members of the ship also died in the sinking.
Commemorated on the Halifax Memorial.[1]
