Biography
Lucy (Colman) Girling was born in Great Ellingham, Norfolk, England.
Lucy Maria Colman was born in 1842. She was the daughter of farmer, James Colman and Mary Ringer. [1] Lucy was baptised on 14 Dec 1842, in Great Ellingham, Norfolk. [2]
In 1851, Lucy was seen with her governess and at least three other siblings in Henstead, Norfolk. [3]
In 1864 Lucy married Thomas Girling, a yeoman farmer. The marriage was registered in Blything, Suffolk. [4] A public notice was issued in the newspaper, which confirms Lucy's father and spouse. [5]
In 1871, Lucy was residing with her husband and three children in Frostenden, Suffolk. Lucy was a 29-year-old farmers wife. [6]
In 1891, Lucy and her husband were living in London Road, Frostenden. In the household were their son, daughter, a visitor and a servant. Lucy was 48-years-old. [7]
In 1901, Lucy and Thomas were still living in Frostenden. Lucy was 58-years-old. Other members of the household included a visitor and a servant. [8]
Lucy passed away at the age of 70 on August 19, 1913 in Frostenden, Suffolk. She is buried at All Saints Churchyard in Frostenden.
