Biography

Anne was born about 1735-1740, and was more likely the Anne Collins who was baptised at Malpas, Cheshire, England.

On the 10th December 1762 Samuel Edge and Anne Collins, both of Whitchurch, were married by banns at St. Alkmund, Whitchurch, Shropshire, England. Witnessed by John Loe and John Hyde[1]

Anne, wife of Samuel Edge, died in August 1782 and was buried on the 13th August 1782 at St. Alkmund, Whitchurch, Shropshire, England.[2]

Research Notes

Samuel and Anne were not the parents of the Mary Edge who married William Minshall as that Mary Edge was born in 1740 at Prees and baptised in 1740 at Prees, the daughter of Thomas Edge and Ann Edge nee Evanson who had married at Prees in 1737.

Ann's husband Samuel, a pauper, died aged 72 years in 1810 at Whitchurch, Shropshire, England and was buried on the 1st January 1811 at St. Alkmund, Whitchurch, Shropshire, England.[3]

Malpas, Cheshire was just 6 miles away from Whitchurch, Shropshire.

The baptism on 23 FEB 1742 at Bridgnorth, Shropshire, England is probably incorrect as Bridgnorth was about 36 miles away from Whitchurch. The Malpas, Cheshire baptism is closer in distance.
