William Colley married Catharine Glenton in the middle of Hull in St Mary's Lowgate, one of the very first church marriages to be in the new Registers where one copy of the page went to the Civil Registrar, one remained in the Church Register. These should have been identical but inevitably there are differences through error, corrections made in one copy but not another etc. Catherine's registration has three versions probably through errors in copying. [2][3]
Ship Carpenter 1851 Hull
William Colley born in Paull is ship carpenter -- much the same job as his father. William and his wife Catharine have two young children with them in Perrot Street in the middle of Hull, still in the parish of St Mary's Lowgate. [4]
Shipwright 1861 Sculcoates
Shipwright at this census may mean exactly the same thing as Ship Carpenter at the previous one but it may reflect an increased use of metal alongside the wood. Actual steel hulls were very rare still except for huge vessels. William and Catherine still have just two daughters, plus a boarder. [5]
Shipwright again 1861 Sculcoates
William and Catherine are alone in Paragon Place, their daughters have married.

Death 1874 Hull

If the William born 1815 in Swine is to the same William & Ann as parents then this one has presumably died. Since he has not died he presumably descends from a different couple -- but which is the son of our William COLLEY 1772?

Disambiguation
There are two William Colleys born 1813 Paull and 1815 Swine.
Both are the son of William and Ann and it is natural to assume that they are brothers and the earlier has died. But in 1851 we find the older William is alive.
The most likely conclusion is that we have two pairs of parents both William and Ann, Close examination of the three baptisms in Paull shows that they are all hard to reconcile with the other baptisms.
