John Garrett COLEMAN, son of Albert Rinehart COLLMAN (1857-1933) and Gaske Elizabeth JANSEN (1863-1937), was born on 19 September 1895 in Cottonwood Falls, Falls Township, Chase County, Kansas. [1] ,[2] ,[3] ,[4] ,[5] ,[6] ,[7] ,[8] ,[9]
John died on 18 July 1957[6] in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma County, Oklahoma, ([7] and was buried in Watonga IOOF Cemetery in Watonga, Blaine County, Oklahoma. [7]
John was a farmer, and for a time he owned a produce store. [3],[5],[8]
John registered for the military draft in June, 1917 while living in Fay, Dewey County, Oklahoma. [3]

He almost immediately enlisted in the Army, and served from 22 July 1918 to 25 February 1919. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Private.

In April, 1942, John again registered for the draft, while living in Oakwood, Dewey County, Oklahoma. [5]

John married Oleta Marion SCOTT (09 February 1899 - 04 March 1991) on 26 June 1918 in Watonga, Blaine County, Oklahoma. [10],[8] At the time of his marriage, John was residing in Fay, Dewey County, Oklahoma. [10]

Together, John and Oleta had six children:
In January 1928, John was living in Oakwood, Dewey County, Oklahoma whenn he registered his children Glenna and Richard in the Dewey County schools.[11]
