Biography

John came to Western Australia as a prisoner on the Lord Raglan, arriving on 1 June 1858.^[1]

He had been convicted of wounding Emily Luker with intent to kill.^[2]

John married Emily Luker on 2 July 1862 in Fremantle.^[3]

He was a shoemaker (1874 Almanac), and employed ten Ticket of Leave men 1862-1869 including eight shoemakers.^[3]
