Biography

Geoffrey Murray Colbey was born on 29th March 1912 at Blanchetown, South Australia, Australia. He was baptised on the Anglican Church Mission boat Etona at Blanchetown on 12th June 1912.^[1]

He married Nellie Harris on 15th December 1943 in St Margaret's Church of England, Woodville, South Australia.

Geoff Colbey is a Military Veteran.
Served in the 2nd Australian Imperial Force 1939-1945
2/10th Australian Infantry Battalion

Geoff served in the 2nd Australian Imperial force during the Second World War; enlisted 20th October 1939, discharged 16th March 1945.^[2] He was one of the renouned Rats of Tobruk. Geoff's final posting was to Headquarters 1st Australian Army Corps.^[3]

He passed away in Modbury Hospital, South Australia, on 3rd July 1996 and was cremated at Enfield, South Australia.
