Geoffrey Murray Colbey was born on 29th March 1912 at Blanchetown, South Australia, Australia. He was baptised on the Anglican Church Mission boat Etona at Blanchetown on 12th June 1912.[1]
He married Nellie Harris on 15th December 1943 in St Margaret's Church of England, Woodville, South Australia.
Geoff served in the 2nd Australian Imperial force during the Second World War; enlisted 20th October 1939, discharged 16th March 1945.[2] He was one of the renouned Rats of Tobruk. Geoff's final posting was to Headquarters 1st Australian Army Corps.[3]
He passed away in Modbury Hospital, South Australia, on 3rd July 1996 and was cremated at Enfield, South Australia.
