Biography

Joshua was born 06 Apr 1792, the son of Prince Coffin and Experience Ells, who moved from Nantucket, Massachusetts to Kings County, Nova Scotia circa 1776[1] [2]

On March 6, 1815, he married Elizabeth Lounsbury, daughter of Michael Lounsbury[2], and their children included[3]:

  1. Prince, born December 12, 1815[3]
  2. Henry, born September 24, 1817[3]
  3. Zephunia (Son), born March 17, 1820[3]
  4. Mary Coffin 1821–1866[3]
  5. Ann Coffin 1822–1870, who married Elisha West [3]
  6. John born May 6, 1822, who married Abigail Trefry[4]
  7. Nathan Coffin 1830–1855[5] [3], see FAG #117330172

Joshua Coffin died 20 Sep 1864[2], and he is buried in the Riverbank Cemetery in Hantsport, Hants County, Nova Scotia[1]
