Biography

Note that, in the John Reeves tree, created without the benefit of online databases, Marianne was conflated with Ann, Eli's 1st wife. Marianne was born in Calcutta, in 1812. Her first name appears in various phonetically similar forms. Her parents were Hector COCHRANE & Harriet (surname unknown). m 18 Mar 1851 Farringdon Parish Ch . Eli CHRISTMAS & Marianne Richardson COCHRANE At some point between 1851 and 1861, Marianne appears to have separated from Eli and moved away, taking her surviving son, Hector, with her. She had had at least three sons but only the eldest, Eli Hector (b 1852), survived. She passed away in late 1880.
