The father of Grace was John Cochrane . John Cochrane was born in Lanark Scotland in 1800, he married Mary McFarlane on the 31st December 1824 in Glasgow Lanark. John and Mary arrived in Australia in 1833 with there young family, and on the 21st August 1835 there first Australian born child Suzannah was born in Sydney. (COCHRANE SUSANNAH, Registration #120/1835 V1835120 47, Father's Given name(s), JOHN, Mother's Given name(s), MARY) Suzannah was baptized at St Andrews Scot's Church and John's occupation was a shopkeeper. By 1839 John was living in "Windsor NSW" and another daughter Grace was born on the 17th April of that year, John by than was a baker. Their last child was Janet McFarlane born in George Street Windsor in 1842 although there is no record of her birth. John's daughter Grace married a Richard Edwards in 1868 and moved to "Dubbo NSW" and at some stage John also went west to Dubbo and on his death certificate 1883 his occupation is listed as a farmer. His Will gives his address as "BELARBIGAL" Dubbo NSW. This information was recorded in family history stories and handed down from grandparents. Entry by Bruce Donaldson July 2020.
