Louisa was the illegitimate daughter of H.R.H. William Henry Hannover, the Duke of Gloucester and Almeria Carpenter raised by Farley Edsir, Gloucester’s steward, at his dairy farm at Hampton Court.[1]
She and Godfrey's first three children were born before their legal marriage; these children were legitimated according to Scottish law, but not English law.
